Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Today on our 2013 Chevy Cruz we'll be test fitting the Thule Bigmouth roof mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's load bars. Starting with the rear we'll remove one of the wing nuts to position the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar. We can then reinstall our wing nut and then slide it down. Moving up to the front, we can loosen up the black wing nuts to position the T-bolts into the slots of the brackets. We'll then tighten down the wing nuts and secure the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. Now that everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the strap at the front and the rear and then loosen up the frame clamp. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Camaro we'll be test fitting the Yakima, Wheel Mount bike carrier, part number y02103. The the Yakima roundbar roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our front loader directly onto our crossbars. We'll go ahead and fit the front and rear clamps around each bar. Then here at the front, we'll tighten the T handle until our handle is tight around our front crossbar. Now, we'll move to the rear and drop our T bolt through the appropriate slot and tighten with a T nut on top. We'll want to make sure that we get that all the way tightened down. With our front and rear clamps secured, we can then open the wheel loop at the front of our carrier and undo the rear wheel strap. more

We'll want to get that clamp tight around our bar. Then, we can slide up our slotted bracket around our T-handle and install our skewer. more

With the Thule square load bar system assembled on to our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the big mount directly on to our load bars. Here at the front, we need to bring our front brackets around our front bar to fit the T-holes in their appropriate slot and then tighten the wing nuts on the top of the platform. Well do this for both clamping system then our form platform. Here at the rear, well undo both wing nuts and remove the clamp. Well bring our two bolts around our rear bar, reinstall the black metal clamp and secure it in place with the wing nuts. more

We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll then remove the skewer, allowing us to access the two front bolts at the head of the carrier. We'll then loosen up the bolts at the front of the carrier, as well as the rear of the carrier, to bring both brackets underneath the front and rear load bar. Once we have the brackets in place, we can then use the Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to bring the brackets up tightly around the load bars. Once everything is secure and tightened down, we're ready to load up our bike. more

We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll then take the two silver brackets to bring around the underside of the front load bar and use the black wing nut to thread onto the bracket to secure the front of the carrier to the front load bar. We'll then move to the rear, where this time we'll slide the black bracket onto the top of the rear load bar and insert the black plate onto the threads of the downward bolt. We'll then thread on our black wing nut to secure the rear of the carrier to the rear load bar. Now with everything secured and tightened down, we're ready to load up our bike. more

We'll begin our test fit by first placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll remove the black plastic cover at the head of the carrier to bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front load bar. We then can move to the rear, where we will loosen up the Allen bolt to bring the rear bracket around the underside of the rear load bar. We'll then thread in the Allen bolt through the bracket and tighten it down with a wrench. Now with the rear secure, we'll head back up to the front of the carrier, where we'll use the Allen key to turn the silver bolt at the head of the carrier to bring the straps up around tightly against the front load bar. more

Well them move to the rear and loosen up the Allen bolts to bring the rear bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar. Well then use the included Allen key to turn the Allen bolts to bring the bracket up around tight against the bar. Well then move back up to the front and again using the included Allen key to turn the silver bolt to bring the straps up around tightening this bar. more

We will then move to the rear of the carrier where we will bring that bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar, insert the t-bolt, and turn the black wing nut to tighten the rear of the carrier to vehicles crossbars. Now with the carrier secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. Well loosen up the skewer as well as the rear tray strap. more

Well then insert the T-bolt and turn the black T-handle to tighten down the bracket to secure it to the rear crossbar. Now, the carrier secure to the vehicle were ready to load our bike. more

Today on our 2011 Chevy Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number TH513. Now with our Thule roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll set the carrier onto the load bars and we can use the Allen key to tighten them both down. In order to tighten down the front part of the carrier, you must remove the skewer first. It's important the carrier is perpendicular to the load bars and parallel to the vehicle to ensure that the brackets have the proper fit onto the load bars. Once you have the brackets tightened down and secured to the vehicle, we're now ready to load our bike. We'll undo the wheel strap at the rear and insert the skewer into the front of our bike rack. more

Feed the straps at the head of the bike carrier around of the front bar, lock them back into the head, and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Now, it's time to reinstall the cover on the head of the bike rack. At the back, well use a clamp and we'll tighten it down by using the Allen key. Once we've done that, we're ready to load up our bike. more

Well then tighten that down to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Now were ready to load our bike. more

We'll loosen up the black wing nut to allow us to do this.We'll then move to the rear of the carrier where we will again loosen up the black wing nut, bring the bracket around the rear of the crossbar. We'll then tighten down the black wing nut to secure the rear of the carrier to the vehicles rear crossbar.We will then move back up to the front of the vehicle, where we will loosen up the skewer. The skewer of this carrier does have reverse threads. After removing the skewer, itll allow us to slide the black cap back to have access to the wing nut. more

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox well be test fitting the Yakima Forklift Roof-mounted Bike Carrier, part number Y02098.Now, with our vehicle already equipped with a roof-rack, were ready to fit the forklift to the vehicle. Well place the bike rack on top of our crossbars and align the two mounts with our crossbars. Here on the front, well bring the head of the bike rack directly over the front crossbar and make sure that the clamp goes underneath.We can then use the wing nut to slide the bolt through the clamp and tighten it down. Well then slide the back of the head forward to lock the front wing nut in place. Well move to the back mount where well make sure that the clamp goes underneath the crossbar and tighten it down.Well then install our skewer. With the skewer in place and opened up ready for the fork of our bike, well make sure that our rear wheel strap is undone and out of the way.We can then place the bike into the bike rack making sure the front fork falls into the skewer. more

With both clamps secure, our bike rack is mounted and we are ready to load up. To load our bike rack the first thing we need to do is open up the front wheel hoop all the way. more

Alright, today on this 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, we're going to do a test fit of product number TH513 from Thule. This is the Domestique Bicycle Rack. Now, the car has already been outfitted with a Thule Roof Rack System with the square bars. We're also going to start our bike rack assembled according to instructions. So we can go straight to mounting the bicycle rack to the crossbars. We'll start off by taking the front clamp, put in the crossbar, then we'll slide our second clamp in position and around the second crossbar. more

Today on this 2011 Chevrolet Aveo, were going to test fitting the Yakima front loader roof mounted bike rack, park number y02103. our Aveo already has the Yakima roof rack system on it so were ready to go ahead and mount our front loader. Well position the 2 clamps on the front loader on top of our crossbars. With our bike rack in place on our roof where we want it, we can go ahead and being tightening the clamps down. With the 2 clamps tightened down the bike rack is already installed and were ready to mount up a bike. Now our bikes loaded and were ready to hit the road. more

Alright, today in this 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Domestique Bicycle Rack, product number TH513. A couple of quick notes about the bicycle rack is that will fit square bars, fit round bars and electrical bars as well. In this case on our car, we already have a Thule Roof Rack installed with the square bars. We'll go ahead and start off with our bike rack assembled according to instructions and we're going to put it into place. We'll take the front clamp, put around the front crossbar, and then we'll slide the second clamp over the second crossbar, ok. And then we'll go ahead and get the hardware started to clamp it to the back as well as to the front. more
